Commodity Buyer Global Fasteners

• Management of supply base to include renewal of agreements and assisting suppliers in problem solving and tracking corrective actions;
•Conducting supplier assessments for potential new suppliers, develop and supervise global bidders list;
• Gathering and analysis of supplier data to prepare analysis and recommendation for supplier selection, with focus on sourcing in low-cost countries;
• Work with suppliers to develop continuous improvement plans and metrics to monitor performance;
•Develops and execution of sourcing strategies and prepares monthly reports to track and show sourcing strategy and progress, including achievement of spend reduction targets;
• Interface with internal customers on critical supplier issues as necessary;
• Participation, as needed, on TRW Teams and effectively interact with other Purchasing employees, TRW departments and/or manufacturing plant personnel;
This position will also require some travel, globally or regionally depending on assigned supply base.
• Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent experience; preferred course of study to be Purchasing, Supply Chain or a technical field
• 2-3 years of experience within direct purchasing, including negotiating with suppliers and managing the supply base post-negotiations;
• Demonstrated performance in working cross-functionally and/or within a matrix organization and working independently to obtain results;
• Manufacturing and/or Automotive work experience highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
• Excellent verbal and written communication including preparing and delivering presentations in English (German will be an advantage);
• High level of independent judgment; excellent verbal and written communication; analytical and leadership skills.

•Participate in supplier negotiations and prepare purchase order contracts
• Conducting supplier assessments for potential new suppliers, develope and supervise global bidders list;
• Gathering and analysis of supplier data to prepare analysis and recommendation for supplier selection, with focus on sourcing in low-cost countries;
• Work with suppliers to develop continuous improvement plans and metrics to monitor performance;
•Assist with global benchmarking and evaluation of alternative manufacturing processes and design changes;
• Develops and execution of sourcing strategies and prepares monthly reports to track and show sourcing strategy and progress, including achievement of spend reduction targets;
• Interface with internal customers on critical supplier issues as necessary;
• Participation, as needed, on TRW Teams and effectively interact with other Purchasing employees, TRW departments and/or manufacturing plant personnel;
• Presentation of research, decisions, etc., as required, to next-level or executive management; This position will also require some travel, globally or regionally depending on assigned supply base.
• Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent experience; preferred course of study to be Purchasing, Supply Chain or a technical field
• Minimum of 3 years experience within direct purchasing, including negotiating with suppliers and managing the supply base post-negotiations;
• Demonstrated performance in working cross-functionally and/or within a matrixed organization and working independently to obtain results;
• Manufacturing and/or Automotive work experience highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
• Excellent verbal and written communication including preparing and delivering presentations in English
• Six Sigma certification or similar continuous improvement training/certification highly desired
•Reporting line to European Commodity Manager located in Germany
